Royal Icing
Awesome icing recipe – gets firm, so designs don’t smudge.

Medium Consistency Icing
- 2 cups confectioners sugar
- 1 tsp powdered egg whites
- 4 tbsp warm water
- 1 tbsp lemon juice (or vanilla)
For Piping (thicker)
- 2 cups confectioners sugar
- 1 tsp powdered egg whites
- 3 tbsp warm water
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
For Flooding (thinner)
- 2 cups confectioners sugar
- 1 tsp powdered egg whites
- 6 tbsp warm water
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients.
- Beat on high, 5 minutes (electric stand mixer) or 10 minutes (hand mixer).
- When consistency is reached, store in airtight containers.
- Separate and add food coloring.
